Finally!!! Santa was good to me & I was finally able to purchase the DTXpress this week! All I can say is that it keeps impressing me...far better than i thought it would be! Now all i have to do is catch up on all the tricks that have been posted here. One question from a newbie on home recording with this kit....I'm about to get Cakewalk & I would like to know what I need to hook the kit up to the computer. Any info is appreciated & thanks to all that have answered my questions before and also to everyone who has posted their honest opinions on this kit...this list was a major contributor in my decision to purchase this kit. thanks again & HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! ----Original Message Follows---- From: meadowman@... Well as I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, I got my kit but wasn't allowed to set it all up till Xmas day - I have now got going with it and it is excellent. Let me just say that I am not a very good drummer at all, have only been playing for about a year on a Premier Cabria kit in my loft which I converted to house my gear (I have some guitars and Recording equipment as well). My point was going to be that I find the DTXpress easier to play than the real kit and I think the reason is that with my real kit I am always conscious of how hard I am hitting them (neighbours !) whereas with the DTXpress and headphones, I can give it some real stick. I also find the bass pedal easier to control than on my real kit, probably my poor technique on the real kit - having said that I haven't played my real kit since I got the DTXpress, so maybe I have improved - we'll see.. I also found the headphone volume to be low, so I have just connected the brain to an old Hi-Fi amp that I had and I connect the headphones to that. You need to be careful if you do that - if the volume is too high it can blow your ears off !! I havent yet done much voice editing, but I intend to do that soon.
