Andy, more props to you!

Andy,
I've been messing with your tips on manipulating note #'s so as to voice
different kits simultaneously, and so far it's working great. (Haven't
had a whole lot of time.) Anyway, since the DTXpress is recording the
MIDI note #, velocity, note on and off messages, etc., instead of the pad
actually struck, as I once thought (which makes more sense anyway), it
seems that the DTXpress is limited only by its capacity to assign a
specific note to either a) the rim, or b) the pad. Correct? If this is
the case, then (I think) Yamaha doesn't have a clear grasp of this tool's
ability. Correct? (I'm just trying to see if I follow you on all of
this.) Also, while using my MIDI Orchestrator program what you said
about note #'s rang true because I can move a note on and off message
(literally, a midi note) up and down the scale and the DTXpress will
voice them all no matter what kit I am set to. But then when I actually
play a song back the notes become slave to the DTXpress controls. This
becomes obvious when you think of it in terms of note #. Anyway, your
help has so far been priceless, and I haven't even had time to apply it
yet! I appreciate it.
