Has anyone seen this problem or got any suggestions?

I have a CD walkman which I plug into my DTXpress to play along to. The
sound which is played through has suddenly changed, all the middle and bass
sounds have disappeared and all you can hear is tinny hissy music. The CD
player sounds fine when played directly through the headphones.

I'm guessing that the amp or mixer inside the unit has gone wrong? Any ideas
or suggestions, my machine is still just under it's 12 month warranty so
I'll return it if necessary.
