Todd You are not going to get acoustic hats with ANY electronic setup. But dig into the manual. In the trigger settings, and in the Utility section there are parameters for making the hihat respond very closely to what you will like.I had the same problem you describe. After adjusting all the controls, including some at the pedal itself, It works flawlessly for me! I am very comfortable with it now. It is about 80% pedal adjustment, and 20% getting used to a different type pedal. But there is no reason the hh60 should not perform satisfactorily.
