Yamaha DTXpress/DTXplorer/DTXtreme

I looked through the previous post but I could not find a clear 
answer on this.  I know the HH60 controller will give me a full open, 
full close, and possibly an in between sound.  If I buy the HH80 will 
it give me the full range from open to close as it states, or is that 
only when it is attached to the more expensive DTXreme brain?
