Yamaha DTXpress/DTXplorer/DTXtreme

I forgot to mention in my last post that my kit came with a kicker, but I
couldn't find a tool to tighten the, well, the little "thing that whacks the
kick stand". Sorry, but I have no idea of the terms :-) The bolt is sort-of
square in nature, and simply allows you to adjust the height of the "thing that
whaks the kick stand".

I'm sure you guys are getting a good laugh out of my terms, but hey, you gotta
start somewhere :-)

Anyway, the kicker is a Tama, and I was wondering if anyone knows how to
tighten it without resorting to pliers!  The kicker also came with what looks
like an Allen/hex key (but it's not) with a ring on one end, and this seems
like one of those leftover parts you have when you put something together, and
leave a few pieces out. ;-O  Youknowadimean?

Does anyone know what this little tool is used for?  Does anyone know what I
should use to tighten the "thing that whaks the kick stand"?
