Re: Yamaha DTXPRESS Crash Course Book by Russ Miller w/CD-ROM

2002-08-16 by chitsman

Walt,

I purchased the Crash Course book about six months ago. I spent some
time getting the CD to work with my module via my computer. (It may
be easier to get the audio CD version and use a CD player in through
the Aux In.) I did finally get that working, but dropped the project
from there. Life you know, we bought a new house and moved, etc. Now
unfortunately my computer and DTXpress are not in the same room.

The book looks good. I am anxious to get back to it now that I
remember that I have it. (Thank you.) I would rate the book as
intermediate to advanced. It appears to be packed with a lot of
information, and covers many different areas. As the title implies,
this is a crash course and touches on a lot of information, but it is
not an in depth study into any one thing. It is well written and
layed out nicely.

If you are fluent in many styles this is probably not the book for
you. But if you're the basic player, there is a lot of good
information.

Hope that helps,

Cary
