Chris, your squealing noise sounds typical of radio interference (or similar). My unit is as quiet as a mouse, so I guess you'll have to try and trace the cause of the noise. Start with your cables and then look at your amps. Also, is the unit close to the PC monitor? Try repositioning the kit and see if the noise gets better or worse. Good luck. Nice to see others joining the group. Have you guys got the DTXpress yet or are you thinking about it? If you've read the messages in the archive, you might think "All these guys do is talk about problems". Don't let that put you off. The DTXpress is a seriously good piece of kit. It's just that we all want to get the best out of it. You understand.... The click is (I fear) something we'll have to live with. I can't see any way of "disconnecting" it from the rest of the sounds. I guess if you're playing live and want to keep in time with any loops you might have programmed, you'll just have to be extra careful and concentrate. BTW, I've just about completed a bespoke SysEx loader for the DTXpress called "DTXchange". It's written in VB6 and is designed purely for the kit. When I've finished testing, I'll upload it. Comments are welcome. Later Giles
