Piezo's and FSR's are not the same. FSR stands for Force Sensitive Resistor which operates pretty much as described in its name. Piezo crystals actually generate a small amount of voltage in response to pressure that is applied to them. If you have a pad that has both a piezo in the center and an FSR strip around the rim, then you definitely need a stereo cable to convey these two signals back to the drum module.
