Herb- I have a ProTools 001 on loan from a friend. I have experimented with the instrument I/O for recording. It works as expected. What I am going to try next is using the midi I/O for recording and see how that works. My goal is to record midi and email it to a friend, who could then play back my midi parts and then record his own parts and email it back to me. Trying to email audio files is next to impossible due to their size. What I want to know is... are the midi files that are produced from ProTools compatible with midi files in, say Cakewalk? If you or anyone else has any ideas, please let me know.
