Hey Leffelejon! I started looking for some books and dvds from my favorite drummers just yesterday! I don't know if its what your looking for, but if you like Dream Theater or Liquid Tension Experimint, Mike Portnoy, their amazing drummer has three dvds out that break down some of their songs and he gives what he calls a "toolbox" of fills and little tips. I like to break down songs and practice the tricky parts so I think those dvds will serve me well! Mike also has some books out but there are other books are available as well. I forgot what it was called, but someone told me about a book called "Something Rock" except I don't know what the something was! When ever I practice, I usually start off with a warmup/exercises, then some easy songs to get the blood flowing, then do some songs I'm serious about and wanna record. Then I'll do some songs that are way too hard for me and try to get them down. I like to play to old bands like blind melon, sponge, early cranberries, new found glory, green day, pantera, sepultura, tool etc....I have a wide range of rock I practice to make sure I can play many styles of rock. Also, when you practice try to add some of your own stuff in that makes sense in the song. Hopefully the others can help you out with some more books and videos! --- In DTXpress@yahoogroups.com, "leffelejon <gadda@k...>" <gadda@k...> wrote: > Hi there > I was wondering if anyone know about some good dvd with drum > lessons, not just the basic stuff more small tips and tricks like > flams, fills and stuff. > And my other question is about good music to play along with... > music style like blind melon or something like that , blind melon is > really great to ply along with. > > se ya all
