Re: Question Regarding Amp and Speakers for DTX

2003-02-17 by liberatusvirus <liberatusvirus@yahoo.com>

Hi Tony,

There are 10" woofers in the world that can bring a lot of bass. I'm
willing to bet, however, that the Rogue isn't one of them. And it's
really bass that's at stake if you want to capture the entire DTX
frequency range. That's why many DTX owners often go with keyboard
amps; anything that can reproduce the low end of a synth will have
at least some success reproducing the DTX sounds. The Rogue at 50W,
however, would not seem to have the power to move much air. That
said, if you really are playing very small venues, the instruments
around you will not be too loud, the crowds won't be sucking up all
the noise, and you don't have a lot of money to spend, a PA for $179
would seem to be at least worth a try. If it doesn't work, maybe you
can convince MF to take it back, or sell it on ebay. Maybe someone
else on the board has firsthand experience with it.
