Excellent tips! I'll add them to the tips section.
One thing though - on my kit, the velocity crossfades
don't seem to crossfade very well. The thing seems to
change from V1 to V2 at a "trigger" point rather than
gradually. Set up a x-fade on the snare (as Mark
suggests) and then hit the snare continually, getting
louder. You'd expect the V1 sound to gradually give
way to the V2 sound the louder you get, but I think it
just changes from one to the other at a certain point.
It's sometimes difficult to hear so maybe set V2 to an
electronic sound.
Now try experimenting with the x-fade envelopes.
Which one is best?
