As your roll gets faster, you'll probably get a little
quieter (as your sticks move slightly closer to the
pad). This could bring you close to the velocity
trigger point.

But it's more likely to be a re-triggering issue. I
can't remember the exact name, but there's a setting
that allows you to change the time the brain waits
between hits. It basically disables the pad for a
number of milliseconds after it gets hit and then
re-enables it. The idea is to prevent double-trigggers
and vibration related false triggers. You can define
the interval - too large and you'll find that two
notes played very closely will come out as one (the
first note). The second note will be blocked.

Try lowering this setting and see if that improves the sound.
