Rolf,

Thing about those stress balls (I'm squeezing one now) is they rebound
slowly. 
So my question is...if you're playing really fast kick beats like doublets
or 
triplets (not that I can do triplets), is the pad ready to accept the head?
 Or, do you notice a difference in stroke length or feel?
 
 p.s.: Just for laughs, I once replaced my beater head with a tennis ball
 (drilled two holes in it). That was a great shock reducer, and produced a
 massive wallop. I found it too heavy, however, and meant to one day try a
 racquetball ball.
