Hey antman!! Welcome to the group, you can bet your gonna enjoy
your stay here! Thanks for the kind words! Yes, I have used up all
my inputs in the back of the module so I had to buy an external midi
device, which is that black box in the right hand corner of the
picture, right under the 5th tom. This is a Roland PM-16 which
basically allows you to plug in sixteen more pads because it has a
whopping 16 inputs! This model is discontinued but you can find
them on ebay for about a $100.00. Roland, and other companies, make
more modern midi devices with extra functions and such, but they
didn't offer 16 inputs like I wanted. I know some other members
here have different midi devices and you can ask them they like
them, but I'm very happy with PM-16. It takes some tweaking in the
start but you we can help you if you ever get an extra device. The
other route is to simply purchase another module and have another 10
inputs. The good thing about having another module is the ease of
assigning inputs and changing them for each seperate kit. With the
PM-16 you have to change each extra pad connected to the kit
seperatly, in the modules utilities menu. Then when you switch kits
the PM-16 pads will always be what you last set them to no matter
what you changed them to in another kit. Get what I'm saying? It
is just now with these extra pads that I am starting to realize the
value of just buying another module. I think I might just do that
and buy another DTXpress or something. If you have any more
questions keep asking and your guaranteed to have an answer within
an hour or we'll completly refund your DTXpress bill! :)
