I've been gigging with the DTX for about a year and a half - although 
I have made some pretty serious upgrades in the last four months. 
With proper sound support, the DTX is pro-quality for live work - no 
question. As far as its roadworthiness goes, the threading on the 
clamp knobs can't take a lot of tearing down and setting up. However, 
you can replace the these for less than $2 each (or replace them with 
Gibraltar clamps). But, as Nick said, you can literally pick the 
entire kit as one unit, stuff it in the back of a station wagon, van 
or suv, and never have to worry about breaking it down. Fully 
assembled, the kit will still clear a standard 32' doorway.
For the price, the DTX is an excellent way to introduce yourself to e-
drums, while still having a respectable kit to play in live venues.
