I think that it's safe to say now: 22 respondents out of 700 nominal members. Pathetic. None of the polls have ever had much of a turnout, but this one had a little more riding on it. Though it would be unreasonable to all members to share the same level of interest in the matters raised on this board, as a group devoted to a relatively small product line by a major manufacturer, we might have been able to raise a friendly, valued voice with the company whose products we humbly and unofficially endorse. We would probably not be able to move Yamaha to create products on our recommendation, but we might have helped to incline the e-drum sector in certain directions if enough informed people leaned heavily enough on it together. Look at what Oldguydrummer was able to do with an intelligent, perceptive email about the stereo capabilities of the present DTXpressII chip. Jade and others have had simiiar success with inquiries. True, Yamaha's actions comprised what would seem to be a normal function of customer service, but in these cases, the information was sought on behalf of, and delivered to, hundreds of Yamaha users in one cyber-place (at least theoretically). Nor is customer service always what it's cracked up to be; loads of people behind a communication can make a difference. I'm sure that Yamaha will continue to hear complaints and field queries, but it was intriguing to contemplate what effect a petitition signed by the greater part of the DTXpress Group might have had beyond the piecemeal. As Chris wrote, why should Yamaha care what 22 people think?
