Ed:  As a moderator, you can mass mail everyone at once via 
a "Special Notice".  It overrides all members' selected e-mail 
delivery options.  That's why Yahoo cautions moderators to use this 
function wisely.

Also, you can set up files to be posted to the message board at 
regular intervals or when triggered by a specified event such as a 
member joining.  I have three of them set up as monthly reminders, 
plus one triggered by a new member's joining, and one triggered by a 
member's unsubscribing.  Pretty handy.
