Yamaha DTXpress/DTXplorer/DTXtreme

Anyone seen this problem? I set up a custom snare
sound on Pad 5 and then used it to record a song. Then
I changed Pad 5 to be the Pad Song controller. The
song is played OK, but the custom sound was lost. It
wasn't coming out as Piano (we all know about that
one) - but more like the bog standard Kit40 snare.

This happened to me and initially the only way I could
get the custom sound back was by changing Pad 5 back
to normal. Even when I assigned another pad to be the
Pad Song controller, the sound remained the same.
Eventually, I re-recorded the song on Pad 5 and set up
another pad to play it. All OK now.

Are there any issues with playing back a song thru the
very pad that was used to record the song? Would it be
better to record the song on another channel first?
