> Any recommendations now that I'm getting my first drumset? Before you do anything with the drum module, do a factory reset. There's a bug in there that will eventually force you to do such a reset. Get one or a pair of SOFT bass drum beater patches and put them on the kick pad, as these seem to have a problem with the surface crumbling off in small pieces over time. Putting these on DOES NOT invalidate the warranty on the drum set, per information directly from Yamaha Corporate in California. I suggested a soft one so that it won't increase the noise of the pads. If you haven't played in a while or never before, I would suggest keeping the cymbal pads low so that it doesn't make you work your upper body too hard and take the fun out of riding or crashing on the cymbals. Don't overtighten the plastic clamps, as it's not necessary because of the ribbed rack construction. That's about all I can think of... Stephanie
