In a prior post I complained about the noise coming from the kick tower and my cheap pedal when playing live. Well, I think I fixed most of the problem. First, I got the new Pearl Powershifter Eliminator pedal with the four interchangeable cams. What a sweet machine - sturdy and ultra-quiet. Next, I noticed that with all the metal parts on the tower there are lots of opportunities for vibration from metal on metal. In particular, the thin metal cover over the electronics on the back of the tower can really vibrate even with the screws tight. I wrapped black electrical tape over this cover and also down near the bottom of the tower where the base meets the upright tower. It seems to have done the trick - the only noise I hear is the actual impact of the beater on the pad. No vibration at all. Thanks to all the helpful comments in the past. Bill
