Herb, to set up the cross fade go to the voice menu, set V1 to one voice, then highlight the "1" (V"1" that is) and change it to "2" (V"2") Now you are setting up the second voice, set this to whatever you want as usual, now scroll down the pages until you come to "XFADE", here you can cycle through different cross fade patterns, from a smooth sweep between the two to an abrupt jump, the change is based on the velocity of the strike, so if you're always playing at 99% then this may not give very good results. I tend to play around the 50-70% mark so I use a high blending crossfade to give me the higher velocity voices like rimshots. Crossfade is something you have to play with, so I wouldn't use it for tonight and expect it all to go smoothly, I'd suggest you chicken out and go with real high hats, that's what I'd do in your situation. I know it isn't what you want to hear, but there you go. Maybe if you give the crossfade a try and get the sound you want straight off then you will be OK, but take some real hats just in case. Before you begin digging into crossfade, have you adjusted the decay settings of the standard voice? This makes a big difference to the sound and gives a much better feeling of realism. Have fun, hope all goes well. -----Original Message----- From: herb@... <herb@...> To: DTXpress@egroups.com <DTXpress@egroups.com> Date: 19 October 2000 19:32 Subject: [DTXpress] Re: Live show on Friday!!!Help >thanks for the info, I seem to have lost my instruction manual, can >you tell me how to set up the cross fade?
