Hey, Vern. I posted this some months back, the solution to the question: How do you assign a kit to a song? I feel it's important this detail is saved on the "Tips & Tricks" page of DTXpressions, because you won't find it in the DTXpress manual. I got it by writing to Yamaha. Background to this is: I had created several main songs of my own, in some cases to add a click track at correct speed when rehearsing with my band, sometimes to add effects like a cowbell beat when both my hands were busy. But when selecting one song after another, I wanted the module to automatically select the appropriate kit. The module already selects the correct kit when you change from one factory-set song to the next, but otherwise keeps defaulting to factory kit 40 GM std 1. The solution: Assign a kit to a song by doing the following: 1. Select User song from the Play mode. 2. Press [SONG] button. 3. Press [PAGE DOWN] button to select Channel and PCNo screen. Select Channel 10 and turn channel ON. 4. Top line of display should read "SONG Ch10=on". 5. Using [SEL] buttons, move cursor to "PCNo" field and enter desired kit number for current song. 6. Press [PLAY] button to return to Play mode. Vern, if you could save that as one the Tips & Tricks, that would be great. ... Also, can I recommend doing the same with Bisqray's procedure for layering a walking bass line over a bass drum sound (Message #6241)? Otherwise it seems like hard work and good advice being lost forever. Cheers. --- In DTXpress@yahoogroups.com, "Vernon Graner" <vern@t...> wrote: > Hey Nick, > > I'm the admin of the DTXpressions site. Just let me know what you've got. > and I'l place it for you.
