Pintech AX14S and ZB2 questions

2003-10-28 by jclco_md

Hi groupies,

I have some questions about my new Pintech AX14S and the Zenbal ZB2.
I received the shipment last week and so far I am happy with them
using with my DTX Version 2 brain. I got the following questions
that need clarification though. Hope you guys might be able to help.

1. Did you guys get product manuals or warranty info from Pintech? I
didn't get anything and asked my vendor but they deferred the
question to Pintech. I haven't heard from them since.

2. I could only get the AX14S rim sound when I directed the output to
the 11/12 input (should be similar to your 9/10 in DTXpress) using
the Hosa YPP117 splitter cable. I read the older messages regarding
to this product, but what I don't understand is why couldn't I get
both Snare & RIM sounds through the Snare Input #1. Why do we need to
run it to the 9/10? AX14S is dual-zone and I am using a stereo
cable. Plus my original TP80S can be plugged into Input #1 and get
both sounds. If Pintech provided me a product manual to clarify all
these, it might make sense. FYI, I have also tighten the nuts, but I
prefer them not too tight since I think the mesh head is too bouncy
already!

3. The Zenbals are great except I still need a lot of fine tuning.
The crash sometimes wouldn't trigger and the Ride (set at a sharper
angel) seems to make too much noise when I hit the surface. Don't
know how to resolve that though. Also, since the ZB2 is a full
circle, I wonder if leaving the output device at a downright position
will give me better trigger, although it seems to be better.

THanks, overall I do recommend these two products. Hopefully they
just forgot to send me manuals, otherwise I don't think I could set
them up. But with you guys' help and tips, they are certainly
verrrrry helpful.

This group is terrific!!
