TO HOST midi information go both ways?

2003-11-03 by zapaxe

Hi,

Am I missing something here?...Is this TO HOST cable a Two-Way midi
communication? Or does it need to be used in conjunction with
regular midi cables. If you read the manual, there's the "hint" that
is a bit confusing...

I got a CCIBM-PC TO HOST cable to go from my DTXpress I module to my
computer COM 1 (D-SUB 9) port.

Got the drivers installed. I finally got it to record midi
information to my Cubase program. Problem is, no matter what I do, I
can't get it to play back the midi I just recorded with the TO HOST
cable!!!

Just for fun, I hooked my "regular" midi cable from my Aardvark
sound card to midi in to DTXpress...Of course the midi played back
then!...?

And I did set the DTXpress to PC-2 as directed.

Any ideas?

Thanks, Steve
