The II shipped with a specific rejection setting for either the snare 
or hi hat set too high. I can't remember which one, but the result 
was that when struck at the same time, one won't play. The system may 
have hiccuped when you moved it and restored the flawed default; the 
reset that you performed yourself may have simply confirmed it. Go to 
the trigger menu and check the specific rejection of hi hat from 
snare and/or snare from hi hat. If either is high, reduce it until 
the problem disappears. Could you let us know whether this works?
