Ed,

Since the hihat pedal is in the "down" position the majority of the time I
play, I would say yes. I looked at the newest one of the three HH65 I have
and it appears fine. The oldest, most used is the one with the "limp" rubber
rocker. 

I was using three hihat pedals, when I made the three zone hihat pad, I
dropped back to using just two HH65 pedals. I just took the spring out of
the extra HH65 and intertwined into the my primary hihat pedal. It really
does feel alot nicer.
