No, as I think I explained, I think your rim switch is faulty. 
Sensitivity settings apply to the way the piezo signal is interpreted 
and is for the whole pad. The switch is just that - a switch. It's on 
or off. End of story. If you have to hit it harder, the switch is 
faulty and will eventually fail altogether as mine has.
