This past weekend I bought Garageband for my Powerbook. I have some good news and some bad news about it. The good news is that it's one of the easiest recording apps out there to use. The bad news is that when using MIDI to connect your DTX to it, the sounds are mapped incorrectly. On most kits there is no snare at all, and on some the kick sends a form of the snare. It's totally whack and unusable in its default form. Keep in mind that I've only spent a short amount of time with it. The solution is surely in the brain of the DTX. You will have to 'somehow' alter which triggers are sending signals. If any of you Mac users have successfully setup Garageband, please share! Otherwise, I guess its back to Battery for a MIDI controller. --- In DTXpress@yahoogroups.com, "Peter Voelker" <pvoelker@n...> wrote: > --- In DTXpress@yahoogroups.com, "gollywillickers" <gollywillickers@y...> wrote: > > anyone here using Pro Tools on a Mac with their DTXpress? or either of these > > individually? i'm interested in recording, editing, samples & sound > > management techniques that people are using. what experiences are you > > having? > > I am a mac user, but haven't put my dtx together with it.
