Hi Rich,

There is an officially self-contained entity called Yamaha Canada
that presumably has its own network of authorized distributors and
sellers. As a U.S. company, Drumbalaya is not part of it; selling new
items across the border would undercut Yamaha's Canadian
merchandisers. Drumbalaya would essentially be offering grey market
goods. Independent sellers and exporters might not have a problem
with doing so, but, as a trusted Yamaha dealer in the U.S.,
Drumbalaya would. However, you should be able to get used Yamaha and
Roland equipment from Drumbalaya's bargain basement, if available. I
would suspect that the prices would be better there than at Long and
McQuade. Maybe not.

By the way, have you checked out Sherpa Drums, which is located in
Canada? I've had some contact with the company, and they were going
to send me one of their snares to review. At this point, I'll believe
it when I see it. But their components are intriguing, and I think
their hardware and pads are compatible with Yamaha. Maybe you should
check out their site.
