MIDI question

2000-12-29 by Thad Brown

Hey all,

I'm new to this group, my apologies if I'm going over stuff that was
covered eons ago. I'm also searching through the archives. I have a bunch
of problems, but I'm starting with this one. I have a DTXpress, mostly as
a trigger and programming tool for my sequencer. So, it's MIDI'd into a
MOTU MIDIExpress (lots of permutations of "express" in my studio). It
seems that the DTX sends out a LOT of MIDI data that creates some problems
with my interface. It looks almost like beat clock, a regular pulse of
data that goes to all channels. It's not a MIDI loop, MIDI through if off
(it's the only device on that channel). Also, this is with the computer
not even on, so it's not a sequencer thing. I've looked for something that
would be doing this with no luck. Any ideas? I'll be asking more
questions in the next few weeks I'm sure. I know a teensy bit about
computers and music, so I'll repay the favor if I can.

Thanks, and good to meet y'all,

TCB
