I will certainly abide by Yamaha's rules on this one.  And 
thanks for the Dtxpress I info.

    For the name I was thinking:  The eDrum Fiddler

fiddle (v):
- To move one's fingers or hands in a nervous fashion. 
- To occupy oneself in an aimless or desultory way. 
- To meddle or tamper. 

    I think that word pretty much describes the program's usage in a 
nutshell.  ;)

    BTW, I've been brushing up on my Java UI skills (Swing) and also 
wrote some basic MIDI code already.  While being a wee bit of 
work... I'm actually enjoying it.  I may send out a UI prototype for 
people to give feedback on.
