The DTXpress is very good...but not as good as Roland V Drums. What would u expect 4 a fifth of the price !! :o) The pads play very well and the tone module has some pretty good sounds in it. U can play around with these sounds and create ur own kits and store these in memory very easily and there's a nice bunch of effects 2 play with 2. If u go 2 the DTXpressions site at www.welcome.to/DTXpressions u can download some kits from there 2 c what can b achieved. It is also easy 2 connect the tone module up 2 any other MIDI device such as a sampler, synth or other drum module 2 access their sounds or if u have something like Cubase VST, u can buy Drum Kit plug in's which can b played via MIDI aswell. U can play MIDI songs from the DTXpress as it has a full 128 voice GM sound set in there tho' this is fairly basic and it also has a 2 track sequencer so, yes, u can play songs from there. It has 95 preset songs and 32 user locations for u 2 store ur own. These stay there until u erase them. The tone module is also 32 note polyphonic. U can alter any of the 910 onboard voices and store up 2 32 of ur own kits but u can't add any tones of ur own or add wave voices either. Just connect 2 a sampler 2 do this. The quality of the sounds is excellent due 2 Yamaha using their AWM2 tone generating architecture. Listen 2 any Yamaha synth 2 hear these e.g CS1x, CS6x, RM1x. I love my DTXpress, as u might have guessed !!! Go find a music store that has 1 u can play...u won't need much convincing ! ;o) Hope this helps, Lovesign. --- In DTXpress@egroups.com, mriche@m... wrote: > I wanna buy a brand new DTXPress gear but I wonder if this gear is > good for playing vs Roland edrums > > Is is possible to add midi songs into the memory (permanently) ? > Is is possible to add midi/wave sounds into the memory (permanently)? > Are the sounds "natural" ? > > Please give me your review and let me know how you like your DTXPress > > Michel from Belgium
