Thanks for the info.  What is the * function you refer to?  Let me know,
I'll try it out and tell you how it worked.  I agree with you that this
whole thing defeats the purpose of track recording.  As if that weren't
enough, I talked with a tech at Yamaha today (believe it or not).  It
looks pretty grim.  He affirmed my suspicions that the DTXpress doesn't
actually record any song information, it records only the information
that tells the triggers to activate/deactivate (a little memory saving
trick).  This would explain the reason that the DTXpress can't voice two
drum sets at the same time during recording.  If you want to record a
song like you might in an actual recording situation, it looks like
you'll just have to mute drum part 1 and play by # of measures and the
click alone.  (I guess it could be worse.)  I'll post this info on the
billboard as well.
