Re: [DTXpress] amp

2001-01-13 by Richard C. MacDonald

Hi Vivien,
Welcome to the group.
As far as amps go, there seems to be general agreement that a keyboard amp
or the roland drum amp are the way to go. The bass amp won't give you the
range that you need. There is quite a bit on amps if you search the
archives. I use a Fender KXR100 and am very satisfied. I have not heard or
used a Yorkville amp.

Several members have played live with the dtxpress and written about it.
Again, unless they respond directly, the archives are the way to go.

I've had my dtxpress for over a year and I wouldn't say that my pads are
"crumbling", but they do seem to lose a bit of the surface and I have to
wipe them off now and then. If your pads are actually losing rubber in
pieces, you should either contact Yamaha for replacements or maybe the
environment you have them in is particularly dry. Do you have your kit near
a heating vent? Is air blowing on them regularly? "Crumbling" isn't good...

Later,
Rick
