I live in the UK, and have just been searching for prices on the new
roland td-3s v-compact kit, which I am considering alongside the
DTxpressIII as a first edrum kit. At http://www.blackfield.de you can
get the roland kit for 765 euros, including tax, which equates to
#510 - substantially less than the #749 I believe is the RRP for this
kit in the UK. There isn't a price for the dtxpressIII yet.

As mains voltage is the same between germany and the UK, is there
anything to prevent me saving a few hundred pounds and buying from
abroad?  Will I have to pay any additional import tax - this price
includes german VAT at 16% already.

My brother has just moved to germany, so i'll probably visit him
soon, and could buy it en route and bring it back to the UK myself.

I can accept that the guarantee will probably be invalid, or at the
very least it'll be expensive to return the kit to germany if it goes
wrong, but does anyone on the group have any experience of this kind
of thing?
