This is all very disappointing, but what we all have to come to terms with is that the DTXpress is not meant to be a multitrack sequencer. After all, we're talking about a sub-$1000 machine here. It's not exactly rocket science. If Yamaha had added a genuine 2-track recorder/sequencer, they would have had to increase the price. It's unfair to call this a design flaw - I think it was intentional. The flaw is in Yamaha's marketing of the unit and the way it boasts about DTXpress features that don't really do the job. Anyway, if you're serious about multitrack recording, then you would use Cubase or whatever. Even for live work. Having said all that - I recently recorded a single bar song using the same kit I was going to play anyway. I assigned the song to a Pad and looped it - no problem there. Except when I turned the unit off. The next day, I dialled up the kit/song and hit the pad. The sequence started but the voice was Piano!! I had the right kit selected - if I pressed the Song button it was OK - but via the Pad it was just piano. Now *that* has to be a design flaw. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Thousands of Stores. Millions of Products. All in one place. Yahoo!
