I personnally have been using The Akira Jimbo (sp?) sticks from Vic
Firth- they seem to suit my carpeled tunnel beter than thicker ones. Of
interest is the fact that the first pair I bought a year and a half ago
are still just fine- one does not break sticks on these pads. One does
not get the gnawed-by-chipmunks effect that comes from metal rims and
cymbals. Many folks like a fatter stick- more like the 5As- but in truth
you can get volume from the volume control so you don't need to hit as hard.
