Yamaha DTXpress/DTXplorer/DTXtreme

Some of you may remember that at the beginning of the year, I was 
talking to Philip Hamilton of Sherpa Enterprises in Toronto about 
doing a review of the Sherpa electronic snare. It took some time, but 
we finally managed to make the exchange. My review, which is geared 
for those who own a DTXpress module, is located in the Files section. 
It is important to note that Sherpa's products were not designed for 
compatibility with a Yamaha module, but the snare's features made the 
prospect for use by members of this board intriguing. I'll let the 
review speak for itself. If Philip has any comments to make about it, 
I may insert them as updates. 

I've asked Philip whether he minded us continuing with the project. 
If he is agreeable, I'd like someone with the Alesis DM5 to have a 
go. Anyone in this group interested in doing some follow-up testing 
of the snare through the Alesis DM5 can drop me an email. I'll have 
to privilege someone familiar, but we'll see what happens. I'm also 
leaning toward having a DTXPUII or III owner give a second opinion on 
Yamaha compatibility.
