Re: [DTXpress] iMac Compatability

2001-02-19 by Mark T. Owen

Hey Dan, would you mind pointing me (us?) to the SysEx version you are using, plus any pointers on using it successfully. I had thought that the SysEx app as posted here was for PC only. (Pretend I know nothing about interfacing my G3 Powerbook with my DTXpress. ) Will any USB to parallel adapter work.(old Mac printer interface, looks the same as a midi port) These printer adapters are easy to find at any Mac dealer and not too expensive ($40-$60).
I had set this project aside when I received no response in early postings. I had asked about Mac software for saving, importing/exporting but it seemed that few, if any used Mac here... Strange , given the prevalence of ProTools and CuBase in the recording world. Any other Mac/DTXpress people out there??

Not an IMac, but I use a Blue and White G3, and use a Roland USB to MIDI
interface I bought from www.edirol.com (Roland UM-1). Haven't had any
problems to speak of.

I am using OMS for the MIDI manager and SysEx to retrieve and dump kits.
