Are you striking the flat or the rim? I've had my pcy80's do lots of weird things, mostly triggering the main voice (and staying that way) when you hit the rim. It's all fixed by unplugging and plugging in the jack. Not cool during a gig. As for striking the flat repeatedly (as in a ride) I can't recall that messing up, but then I don't use the pcy for a ride anymore (felt like shit) and now have allocated a tp80s for that (feels great). ======================================================================== pete > From: garyduke@... > Reply-To: DTXpress@yahoogroups.com > Date: Tue, 20 Feb 2001 15:14:01 -0000 > To: DTXpress@yahoogroups.com > Subject: [DTXpress] unwanted choking with dual-zone cym pad? > > Has anyone else experiencing unwanted choking when > striking the Yamaha dual-zone cymbal pad (pcy80s I think)? > > Perhaps there is a setting to help this, but if I strike the pad a few > times in a row, one of the strikes is interpreted as a choke. > > Perhaps the pad doesn't send different signals for a strike and > a 'squeeze', but I thought it would. > > Gary > > > > Community email addresses: > Post message: DTXpress@onelist.com > Subscribe: DTXpress-subscribe@onelist.com > Unsubscribe: DTXpress-unsubscribe@onelist.com > List owner: DTXpress-owner@onelist.com > > Shortcut URL to this page: > http://www.onelist.com/community/DTXpress > >
