Still workin' on it Warren. i searched in vain for it. It seems the best i have done so far is get it to call up the different drum kits. Have not been successful in creating a definition which you can access all the individual voices and layers (change and manipulate) thru Calkwalk. Nobody at Cakewalk knows either. They just give you a run around about how easy it is to make a definition. I don't think they realize the complexity the DTX needs. I used the drum kit names for patches 0-47 (made sure they corresponded to the DTXpress numbering-had to change them to match). I set the DTXpress controllers according to the chart in the back (just looked at the yamaha XG controllers for a clue and made a new data set). I left the synth part to general midi....and the note names to general midi. I'm still trying to brainstorm a way into naming all the voices for access from cakewalk....using note names? ? ? ? still scratching my head on this. Wish i had the tutorial in the pro tools III kit CD on how to do this. This tutorial should have been included with the main package! not an extra! I still have a lot of hair to pull out on this. ;) I read from earlier posts that the snare and bass drumm do not match up with general midi numbers.....i have not experienced this yet....but i'm sure i will soon. i'll try and post some generic .ins file this month Don't hold your breath. i would love to hear any suggestions if you have a flash of inspiration.
