Help on DTXpress order

2001-03-01 by okant@yahoo.com

Hello,

I'm trying to prepare a DTXpress setup to order. I still have some
questions; can you look at them and comment please?

Proposed setup:
1 DTXpress brain
1 RS60 rack system
1 TP80S for snare
3 TP60 toms
2 PCY80S cymbal pads
1 PCY10 Cymbal cup pad, for bell.
1 KP80S kickpad
1 HH80A hi-hat controller

1) Do I have enough inputs on DTXpress for this setup?
2) When using a TP80S (new dual zone snare pad) instead of TP60,
should I connect it to the stereo snare input, or 9/10 dual input.
How do you get a rim-shot sound then? Just hitting the rim, or
rim_AND_pad both? If just hitting the rim, do I get different
velocities (because the stereo input does not have two triggers, but
one trigger and one switch).
3) I expect to get choking on both cymbals, is that ok? I do not
require two different sounds on a single cymbal (not realistic!?!).
4) In the future can I add a second KP80S for dual-kick drum?
5) Would you recommend TP80 instead of TP60 for toms?
6) Would you recommend RS80 instead of RS60? There's a considerable
price difference though!
7) Would you recommend DTX Ver.2 (DTX2U) instead of DTXpress? Why?

*) Note that I am not thinking to do gigs or be a pro or so, it's
just personal fun.

Thanks

Okan
