Hello Jim,

1999-12-11 by bkadrie@iname.com

I too just bought mine and I'm having a great time
playing around with it. I love all the different samples
that hey have for the drums, quit a good selection but
of course there's some real dogs too. (some of those
electronic drums remind me of the early '80s)

I'm also planning on going the Pinetech e-snare route.
Good to hear that you had success with the dual zone pad
on the DTXpress snare input. I think that I'm going to
end up getting the same unit as you...the Dualzone
Concertcaste with their silent pads (I think the ST model).

A couple things I kinda don't like (but I'll probably get used to):

Seems like the whole kit is in your face. I wish that
the pads could be adjust more, as in set them furth back.
(maybe it's possible?) I'm curious if it's possible rig normal
drum stands with these. Then maybe I could get the spacing
that I really want.

The Hi-hat pedal seems to needs lots of adjustment. Sometimes
I can't get the 'open' trigger to respond. Other times, the
'splash' trigger responds when I don't want it to. I'm thinking
most of this has to do with my playing style on a real hi-hat.
I've tweaked the settings a bit, but does anyone have some
input on how to improve the response on the hi-hat unit?

Still on the hi-hat...I wish they had a better half open hi-hat
sample though. Something 'dirtier' As is, I find that it
get's lost once the other drums come in.

I very much enjoy the kit though. Now I'm in 'add-on' mode to
try to rebuild my acoustic kit to the new e-kit. Kinda fun!

Keep posting your experiences. I'll do the same.

Brett
