Yamaha DTXpress/DTXplorer/DTXtreme

Has anybody replaced their mono tom pads with two- or three-zone 
pads just so they could get a rim sound? It seems an obvious thing 
to do, since all the factory kits on my DTXpress (pre-II model) are 
programmed to give tom rim sounds.  Only problem is, Yamaha doesn't 
make two-zone pads anymore - now it's the 3-zone pad.  Still, I'd be 
interested to know if any basic DTXpress I or II owners have lashed 
out to acquire the old TP80S 2-zone or the new TP100 3-zone pads for 
their toms.  Anyone?
