Amplification... Again!

Amplification... Again!

2004-08-25 by Ask Me!

Hi folks,
I'm looking for feedback on some of the different amplification systems that
folks are using with their Dts. I am ready to buy something but my funds are
limited and I need to hit a home-run on the first try.
I use Rolands at church with a Roland keyboard amp (300) and that sounds
great but I am leery of Rolands' amps because there has been a rash of
blown speakers around our town.
I am considering the Behringer, Hartkes key board amp(200 watts) a Samson
Expedition Express PA and Peavys Kb4 or 5. I haven't gotten to hear the MS
100 from Yamaha yet but I am considering it as well.
If those of you who have experience with some of these would please reply
with your likes and dislikes, it sure would help your fellow e-drummerdude!
Thanks, brothers and sisters!
God bless!
Andy

Like Andy, I too am looking for good amplfication. right now I use a
JBL EON-2 powered monitor. The kick is what is hard on the unit. So
I am thinking of a stand alone bass bin that weighs less than 75
lbs, hopefully powered. Maybe I am too fussy as the EON puts out
somewhat of a punch, but also need it to pull me through those gigs
where I am not running through a PA. Going to try a powered sub
woofer but my next gig isn't untill Nov 27 thus cannot truly
evaluate a unit. Anyone using a sub or bass cabinet?

Hi there,

I have seen post about amplification millions of times on this board.

Here are my suggestions:
Lightweight, good, clean, loud & flat sound

Brand: STANER
Models PS-100 powered 100 watts box, two inputs (combi )
       http://www.staner.com/usa/c_a_ps100.htm
       PSDW212 powered sub woofer 37-100Hz 210Watts
       http://www.staner.com/usa/c_a_psw212.htm
Put two of these combinations behind your seat, and you will enjoy
the gig.

Brand: Barbetta (lighter and louder then Peavey KB-300)
Model: Sona 41 http://www.barbetta.com/Live/Sona_41/sona_41.html
       Sona 32 http://www.barbetta.com/Live/Sona_32/sona_32.html

The STANER PSW-212sub is a good ad on to any fullrange p[owered box.
It goes really deep and solid tight sound. Staner has a distributor
in Miami, Florida.

You cannot go wrong with any of these.
