Hi Vivien,
It is easy to add an acoustic snare, just incorporate the snare on your
DTXpress. Obtain a crystal microphone insert
from Maplin Electronics (price about £1.39) connect this to a 1/4" Jack
plug using a basic piece of thin screened
mic cable. plug this into the snare trigger input on the DTXpress. When you
hit the mic insert you will note that the
selected snare drum voice sounds, as if you had hit the snare pad. Now
experiment by taping your newly made trigger
in different locations on the acoustic snare drum until you find the best
location. You may wish to damp the drum so as you
get the feel but not all of the sound of the acoustic snare. Finally trim
the triggering on the DTXpress module for the best
response.
Have fun.

Subject: [DTXpress] adding an accoustic
snare
I'd like to add an accoustic snare to my dtxpress
kit, do you think it can cause unwanted triggers? Have you ever tried this? Is
it easy to mix the sound of the electronic kit and the sound of the accoustic
snare?
thanks for your answers.
