Spare power adapter
2004-09-07 by Nick Carroll
I knew it would happen - and I was prepared for it. As I signalled to this group a couple of months ago, I decided to buy a spare power adapter for my DTXpress, in the event that the first one died at practice or, worse than that, at a gig. How right I was. At band practice last night, my adapter developed a fault, and luckily I had the spare one on hand. What annoys me the most is that the fault appears to be where the 12volt cable connects to the adapter. You hold it in a particular way and it's okay, let it go and no power. There are no screws in the adapter to make repairs easy, so you are forced to buy a new one. That's called planned obsolescence, I reckon. Designed to make you shell out $25 on a new one unnecessarily.
