Ddrum problems, Yahoo forum closed

2005-03-31 by bongokonzelmann

Hi folks,

some time ago I was posting that I was considering to go another route
and to buy a ddrum set. Well, what shall I say I did buy and in many
ways didn´t regret. However the point is that I am now sitting with a
problem around the download / MIDI dump feature of the ddrum 4 brain
and there is nobody out there to help me.

The Yahoo ddrum forum is closed, no traffic since two years, no READ
access to their database was given.

The issue is: When I download a .mid file using the official little
ddrum software tool it is indicating that it sends files to the brain
and also the MIDI interface is indicating traffic via LED. The ddrum
brain answers immediately with an error message displaying "Err".
That´s it. No help in the manual, no forum, no FAQ on the ddrum
websites ....

Can anybody help a poor chap over the pond?

Best regards -Bongo-

Bongo,

The definitive site for your new kit is ddrums.com. I'm a member, and
you should get thee hence as well. Welcome to the wonderful world of
ddrum. By the way, have you tried reversing the MIDI in/out cables.
Labeling is nonstandard; one company's in is another company's out.

Ed,

I recently visited the site but might not have not realised that the
forum community there has grown and actually in some way is the
successor of the Yahoo thing. - Many thanks for the tip. Will sign
into immediately and see you there.

With regards to the download problem: Yes I reversed the cables and
that didn´t help. By the way, to be a bit more specific: The current
setup in the brain is still the factory setting (v 1.54), MEM LEFT =
211 blocks (as the display says) and I am trialling to send over a
file with 18 blocks.

Regards -Bongo-

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
